Canada, 1913 Ottawa Sovereign -

RARE date, and the second hardest date in the Canadian George V series. The 1913-C has a low mintage of 3,717 pieces, while Michael Marsh, in his book, The Gold Sovereign, suggests that there are only 15 to 25 pieces known. The real population might be somewhat higher, based on the frequency with which this date appears on the market (once or twice a year). In any case, there is no doubt that this date is extremely difficult to source, and is often missing in collectors’ collections.

Grades PCGS MS63.
