Move over Canberra florin, the Gothic Crown must be the world's most beautiful coin. Issued in 1847 and 1853, both dates are popular with collectors. There are several different varieties of the 1847, mostly related to the rim inscription (or lack of it). Some were also struck in gold and a “white metal”, according to Spink. The 1853 is ultra rare, and very valuable. It, too, is available with both an inscribed edge and plain edge. Both are rare, but the plain edge is rarer.
