Australia, 2007 Five Cent struck with two obverse dies -
Like the 2000 one dollar mule, the 2007 double obverse five cent coin is destined to become a classic modern rarity. Although the number minted is not known, the coin is appears frequently enough on the market to be affordable, but not so frequently that collectors don’t value it. The present example was found in circulation by the submitter, but is in good nick for a small circulated coin. The surfaces have light residue on both ‘verses, consistent with time in the wild, but there is underlying lustre and only a few marks. If you’ve been chasing this popular Australian mint error but haven’t been able to find one in change, this is your chance.
