A scarce and underrated date that only infrequently appears on the market in this grade. In fact, this is the first 1887-S shield sovereign that I’ve had in stock in any grade since I began trading in 2007, and only the third or fourth that I’ve seen on the market more generally. Equal-second finest graded by PCGS (10/15).
