All Victorian sovereigns are difficult to obtain in high grade, so when the opportunity to acquire an 1884M shield sovereign in PCGS MS64 presented itself, we were bold with our offer. The coin photographed above is the equal-finest example graded by PCGS (8/22), with just four other coins available in this grade. The strike has depth, the edges are sharp, and the lustre is undulant; most importantly, the fields are clean and free from obtrusive marks, scratches, or hairlines.
