McD 154b. Yes, that's right folks, this is the medium tail variety, implied to be very rare by the Greg McDonald catalogue. Of the seven 1877 Melbournes I've had in stock in the last five years, three were the medium tail and four were the long tail. My view is that they're probably somewhat scarcer than the long tail type, but not as rare as the catalogue suggests. A punter might want to buy it here and sell it on Ebay as an expensive rarity.
