1966 - 1980s One Cent die cap

A spectacular die cap error, and the first we have handled with this level of depth. During striking, this coin cupped the hammer die, creating a deeper and deeper pan-like form with each subsequent strike. A bold and highly visual error, with far more presence than the typical shallow cap.
