Australia, 1957 Perth Brilliant Proof Penny - Grades PCGS PR64RD.
While the 1955 and 1956 Perth proof pennies are established rarities, the 1957 brilliant proof penny is a mispriced outlier. Each coin has a mintage in the low hundreds, yet the 1957 brilliant proof penny routinely realises only a fraction of the value of the 1955 and 1956. That disconnect won’t persist. With PCGS now distinguishing the brilliant proof from the common 1957 matte proof penny, the conditions are in place for the market to revalue the coin accordingly. Equal-finest graded by PCGS, with just three other examples in this grade (2/26).
