An original coin, with an abundance of lustre on both ‘verses, this 1856 Sydney Mint half sovereign is an ideal addition to a high-grade half sovereign type or year set. Only the lightest hints of circulation touch the high points of the obverse, while light abrasions mar otherwise problem-free fields. Very scarce in this grade, and bettered by only four coins (1/26).
