Australia, 1913 Sydney Sovereign -
Although the 1913-S sovereign is a common date, it is scarce in high grades. The coin is generally well-struck and sharp (as are most later Sydney sovereigns), while the lustre is even and bright. Collectors should aim to acquire examples in PCGS MS63 at the very least, although coins in MS64 are reasonably affordable too. Advanced collectors looking to build a high-quality set may aim to obtain an example in MS65, if they’re patience. The coin photographed above is problem-free and original, with clean fields and a pleasant overall appearance. Equal-second finest graded by PCGS (4/22) and scarce in this grade.
