Like all Fijian pre-decimal proof coins, the 1955 proof threepence is rare. The mintage is unknown, but with so few appearing on the market in recent years, the numbers in existence must be low. In fact, we believe the mintages of pre-decimal Fijian proof coins are comparable to the mintages of Australia’s VIP proof coins, although the Fijian proof coins trade at a third of the price. In that respect, pre-decimal Fijian proof coins appeared undervalued. And perhaps a little underappreciated too.
