Mint your own coins at the 2014 Royal Easter Show

I haven’t visited the Easter Show RAM mobile press in years, but as I was in the area last week, I thought I’d drop by and say hello.

Here are a few pictures from the visit:

RAM Entrance

The entrance to the hall where the RAM mobile press was set up.

RAM Stand

The Royal Australian Mint stand.

Coin Screen

The portable press that marks the pre-minted dollar coins with an “S” counterstamp.

Coin tray

This coin tray contains pre-minted dollar coins without the “S” counterstamp. (These would be very valuable if accidentally issued without the “S” mark.)

Coin dies

The reverse die is the anvil die. The mintmark is counterstamped on the reverse of a pre-minted coin.
