While many collectors are aware of the 2000 one dollar mule, only the most knowledgeable are familiar with the fifty cent mule of 1988. Featuring the coat of arms instead of the commemorative first fleet design, the mule 1988 fifty cent is known by only a handful of pieces, while PCGS has graded just four (12/23). The present coin, photographed above, is the first we’ve had the opportunity to offer our collectors, and is out of an old Western Australian collection. RARE in any grade, and a must for the connoisseur decimal coin collector.
