A superior example of this Canadian rarity. This particular specimen has clean fields and sharp rims, and is one of the better examples of this elusive date I’ve seen. On the obverse, die polishing marks are evident in the open fields and between the letters in the legend, while the reverse is attractively frosty and well-struck. The mintage of this date is a low 636 pieces, according to the Charlton, or 633 pieces, according to Marsh, with no doubt fewer in existence today. RARE in any grade, particularly this nice.
