The coin photographed above is nice for the grade and has the appearance of a subdued but pleasing MS62. Only under a glass do you notice the scuffing that brings this coin down to MS61. If you’re looking for an 1864 Sydney Mint sovereign in Mint State without spending the $5,000+ required to buy one in MS62, this is your coin. Second-finest graded by PCGS (May 2013) and scarce this nice.
