1918 Perth Half Sovereign - PCGS MS62

Australia, 1918 Perth Half Sovereign - The 1918 Perth Half Sovereign is the key coin of the George V half sovereign series and one of the key dates of the half sovereign series overall. This piece is particularly well-struck, with only slight flatness on the rider’s chest, while the horse’s reins are sharp and clear. The obverse has light field marks consistent with a coin in PCGS MS62, while die-polishing marks are evident on the reverse under a glass. This is one of only a handful of Mint State 1918 Perth half sovereigns we’ve had in stock over the last few years, and is a great type piece for a half sovereign set. Certainly a key rarity for a half sovereign collection, and VERY RARE in this state of preservation. Grades PCGS MS62.
